Komal Jha comes from an orthodox Brahmin family based in Ranchi.[2] She is the daughter of philosopher and author Dr.S.N.Jha. She attended DAV Jawahar Vidya Mandir in Ranchi,[3] passing out in 2003. Komal jha and star Indian cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni know each other well and are said to have lived in the same colony in ranchi.[4] She then left to Bangalore for studying Civil Engineering at MSRIT, Bangalore in the year 2009.

After completion of her studies, Komal Jha[5] worked as a Civil Engineer in Dubai for a year. She resigned her job in Dubai and joined the South Indian Film Industry in the year 2009. She has worked in 24 hours [6][7] in Malayalam, Nimbe Huli [8] in Kannada and predominantly Telugu industry. Her latest work in Telugu, Priyathama Neevachata Kusalama [9] was released on March 21, 2013. Her performance in Chinna Cinema[10] was appreciated by many. Her another movie Eduruleni Alexander is set to release on 23rd august, 2013. She has just completed her her shooting for Billa Ranga  movie which is set to release in Telugu and Tamil.
